Cash and checks will also be accepted [Note: we cannot give change for checks - anything above the amount due will be considered a donation to the PTA]. TES students have been working hard on their art and parents have the opportunity to order timeless keepsakes featuring their work. Do your children love to paint, draw or write stories? Makeup songs or dances? Take pictures or make movies? Encourage them to share their creativity this fall by submitting an entry to PTA Reflections: “Heroes Around Me” in any category: dance choreography, music composition, film production, photography, literature & visual arts. Submissions judged based on grade level (K-2 and 3-5) | Top entries advance to county level for judging | Last year, one of our students advanced to the National level and received an Award of Merit for her musical composition! Look for a flyer and entry form in folders! | Students of all abilities are encouraged to participate: Students who identify as having a disability can choose to enter the Special Artist grade division, rather than a specific grade-level grouping, and may receive non-artistic accommodation and assistance from an adult. | Rules & Details: VA Reflections | Questions: Hilary Robinson or Louise Amato

On Friday, October 5th at 8:00 am in the TES library, we will have a parent coffee on Gifted Identification and Services. Mrs. Christopher and Mrs. Wakefield will share information about gifted identification in Henrico County, as well as the services that are provided for students who are identified. We hope this will help answer questions you may have regarding the gifted referral process and gifted services.
Kindergarten parents and younger siblings are invited to our Kindergarten Send Off Coffee at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue, just down the street from Tuckahoe. Please stop by to celebrate your child’s first day and meet other kindergarten parents.
An Open House for students in grades 1-5 will be held on Thursday, August 30 from 1:00 to 2:45 PM. This is an opportunity for students and parents to briefly meet the teacher, tour the classroom and drop off school supplies. In an effort to alleviate some of our parking challenges and the hallway/classroom congestion that occurs during Open House, we will be asking families to participate at specific times that day. Families with last names beginning with A – L should plan to visit between 1 and 1:45 PM. Those with names beginning with M-Z should visit from 2:00 – 2:45 PM. We appreciate your cooperation with this schedule. It allows for a better experience for everyone!
